I think that is great Egg

I have often heard of a ship referred to as boat so I looked up the definitions. The word could have been ship but I thought boat was more open ended,

@Keith. You have a valid point but because it seems to be open to interpretation I will accept Eggs solution.

I was going to ask the same question as Keith?

So, are you using 'poetic license' to get away with saying that a ship is a boat?!

There is no definitive definition between a ship & a boat. It's normally just a matter of size. It is often said that if it can be carried on a ship it's a boat (lifeboats for example) but I attach a photo of a new HMAS Adelaide being carried on the Dockwise Blue Marlin. I don't think you could call the HMAS Adelaide a boat under any definition

The Adelaide is 230 metres (755 ft) long, weigh 27,000 tonnes and can carry 1,100 personnel, 100 armoured vehicles and 12 helicopters.
