Hi Riston, I think we need to differenciate between a pop-up photo & a pop-up layer here.
Pop-up photos within Xara use Highslide, very common on the web and very open to many adjustmets often through css. However, even starting out with a transparent png, highslide seems to alter this to a jpg with a default white border. I can't find a method to change this default white background (you can for the page but this is filled with a default white background jpg).
Pop-up layers on the other hand can contain transparent png's. So it is possible to 'fake' a highslide type pop-up with various background as per your requirements. I attach a rough demo.
Thanks, Egg. That actually will lhelp me a lot, but not quite how you might think. I'd use this technique, but then I would just go ahead with the normal portrait orientation as the popup, rather than keeping it tilted. Am just guessing that if a visitor would like a larger version, they might prefer it in its non-tilted state. But, I sure do appreciate the file. THe popup layer is on my near horizon for learning, so this is very timely.
