    Because some people like me grew up calling the "OCTOTHORPE" (it's actual name - not pound) a "hash". As far as I'm concerned a pound sign is "£" ... although I may be biased based on my country of origin. I'd never heard "#" called a pound until I came to North America. Why is it called a pound anyway ... you don't use it instead of "lb" or instead of "£", do you?

    I've always used it as number ... as in 1¼" #8 screw.

    Hi Keith, I've always called it a hash. It was used to donate a lb in weight, but of course in the UK using that name would conflict with our currency. It's also called number as in #7. Octothorpe is a fairly recent name. Most automated phone message over here also say "Press 1 followed by the hash key"

    Thanks. I'll have to tinker with that idea with some other sliders as well.

    Ah, you're from the other side of the pond. Here in the U.S. that was used for pound as in weight. "#5 bag of sugar" meant "Five pound bag of sugar" ... we don't know much about that other pound here in the south.

    Shucks, most folks here in Arkansas still pronounce it "Yurp" instead of "Europe".

    You could add this Page HTML code (head) fragment:
    <style>
    img {
    pointer-events: none;
    cursor: default;
    }
    </style>

    On this side of the pond, it's: "Please enter your phone number followed by the pound sign".

    Again, lack of familiarity but wouldn't that turn off the pointer for all links? I only wanted them off for the photo widget.
