I had one of those rare moments of insight and clarity this morning. Now, I'll readily admit that I can be as dim as a Toc H lamp sometimes but I thought to myself, "Why haven't you tried sending a message on your laptop to see if the problems you've been having are related to your hard drive, or possibly something else?" So I did just that. I sent a message replying to Gary Priester's thread about how we feel about the Xara 365 subscription model from my laptop. I was almost relieved to discover that the same problems exist when I send a message to TG on the laptop as I get from my PC with the brand new hard drive. I still have the same problem, but it's totally unrelated to my hard drive on my PC. I'm still no better off, but at least I don't feel as though I ought to format the drive and start over. Bob.

I'm testing out using the default skin instead of the old TG skin at the moment, so I thought I'd post what I intended to yonks ago.
Attached is an attempt at replicating in Xara something I did in Illustrator using the Texturino plugin. Well, links are working again, too, so I'll attempt an attachment.
Bingo!! that seems to have worked, too. Hat-tip goes to Steve (handrawn) for his help.
If anyone is still using the old skin for TG instead of the default one, you might experience the same problems as I did.

Trying the acrylic brushes, to do a ‘traditional’ painting. Not entirely satisfactory but fun to do and, like real painting, never know when to stop.
