Stop and Post January 2017

I have spent way too much time fighting Designer Pro X12 trying to make a convincing navigation bar for a website I am designing. I have finally conceded failure. I cannot bill for this time because it is not my clients fault that things do not work in Xara the way I want them to.

I like to use a MouseDown state to indicate the current page that is different from the MouseOver button state. But I also like to use the Sticky > Stick to Top options which ignores the MouseDown state.

I tried to get around this by adding single buttons on top of the appropriate menu items. This works with single links but not with links with drop down menus.

Then I tried making the single buttons mini-nav bars with a single button state and a single drop down menu.

Interesting to know I am not the only one spending way too much time trying to get the program to do what I want when someone like you does the same. Just sayin.

It is something I truly enjoy, Bob. And yep, I tend to be more layout / type oriented.

I think that by replicating layouts I appreciate, it tends to make me more conscious during the design of my own layouts. Here's a couple more from the set I drew.
