Google doesn't see "alt text"

I have just noticed that Google doesn't see the "alt text" in my image Gallery 8 column widget, and probably none of the other Gallery widgets either.

I tried finding the "alt text" by "right clicking" the webpage and selecting "Inspect". All regularly placed images have the attributes, just not in the widget!

I think this is a serious issue for people wanting google to index images. If anyone can confirm I would be grateful.

Mike, I have checked and your findings are correct.

In my opinion, the Widget adds absolutely nothing.

To get to what you want, create a frame with a black border and add a shadow.
Fix you image as a separate object on to of the frame.
Soft-group these.
Now Ctrl+click the image and Link > Pop-up photo.
Add in all the settings you need for the pop-up display.

Clone and position your images to a 8- (or n-) column grid.
Drop new images onto each thumbnail and with Ctrl-select and the Title and Alt Text to each.

Thanks for confirming this issue, Acorn. I think Xara needs to address this problem ASAP.

I think it's a Highslide issue rather than a Xara issue.

Mike, not if they don't want to. It would be better if Xara expunged it.

@Egg - not a Hislide issue as you can set these manually so Hislide deals with it but the details are not being passed by the Widget. It was poor widget scoping on Xara's part.
