Autoplay Feature for Mp4 on mobile devices with Xara 365

Hi

So i'm looking for a way to enable autoplay for videos on mobile devices using Xara 365? Is their a way around it.

From the information i have gathered, it seems to be disabled by the mobile device browser so a user can control their data usage. Just wondering if their is a way around this without having to create a mobile version of the site.

Any suggestions on a way around it. Thanks

Sorry, I've no idea. Autoplaying of video / audio files is a no in my opinion. Bad practice.

Totally agree with you. I'm starting to question it myself now.. I'm guessing other options are to create different versions of the video such as HTML5, Webm and upload via HTML although not sure if the auto load function will work again as it might have to be configured from the users browser setting.

Anyway i'm having another issue i'm hoping you could help me out with please. I'm trying to use a Jpeg/Gif/Png as a flash placeholder so it doesn't display the 'plug in not supported grey box' when viewed on a mobile device and so uses an image instead however can't get it to work? Any idea what i'm doing wrong..

i think you'll find these are all blocked by default so you have to assume your mobile visitor won't see it so you might as well forget about it
never put important website info in animation or a sound file

Cheers man, i'll have a look tonight. Just came to mind we could also use a Gif instead. Lets see

Anyway i have another question please, after testing the webpage with a background video on a Mobile devices i've noticed that on the Apple safari browser the video plays in a new window and not intended as the background. Is their a way around this or is it something to do with Safari. works fine on Samsung.

I wouldn't know but suspect it's a Safari thing.

All autoplaying videos are blocked on all mobile devices (android or ios) (due to data limits) so it is not an option on ANY software, never seen a workaround for it at all.

these guys somehow have managed to get autoplay working on mobile devices.
