Default Pop Up Layers SEO Implications

Judging from a response that I received from tech support, it appears that pages linked from pop-up layer pages would not be ranked as high by Google as pages linked from a main (not pop up) page.

Does anyone have any information on this issue?

    Harry, whose tech support?

A pop-up layer is simply a hidden DIV within the HTML code of a page. A NavBar is a "pop-up"!
It exists at all times in the DOM of the page so someone seems to be on the hokum pipe.

Here's a link to the page that tech support referred me to:

    Harry

For every piece of "hidden" text you have on your page, you should have some "visible" text that links to it.
"Hidden" text is still searched by Google.

All said, Xara therefore seem to be advising don't use SuperSites or Variants... ... so ask Xara then what.

"The end goal is making sure the pages of your website are comprehensive, interesting, valuable and crawlable, while still maintaining a delightful user experience." I would ignore the crawlable part as you are not trying to spam or spoof.
