help with combine shapes/slice

I would like to create a shape that is the bottom half of a rounded rectangle (like an empty container). I used the combine shapes/slice action but when the two parts are separated there is a line that closes each part (see pic, please). What tool do I need? Thanks!

Use the shape tool.
1 break a point.
2 delete a point.

or, if you are not going to fill the shape, Arrange > Convert Line to Shape, then use a rectangle or a line on top of the rectangle to Slice Shapes.

For Mike's method, Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes first then use the Shape Tool to Break at Points.
