The Day of the Dead is Coming...

All Saints Day a.k.a The Day of the Dead is just over 3 weeks away (November 1st.)
I used 2 fonts from P22 ~ Nudgewink for the text and P22 Posada Extras for the dingbat skull.
Halftones made using Illustrator plugin Phantasm and Illustrator's Gradient Tool.
I've possibly been a bit heavy-handed with the halftones, but who cares!?

Thanks for the compliments Mark. I'll let you into a secret, though. Most of the artwork is thanks to the Dingbat font.
The Astute Graphics plugin to create the halftones (Phantasm) {Link} using Adobe Illustrator is easy to use with gradient fills - and Xara of course,
to draw the simple shapes behind the Dingbat for the colour. If you have Illustrator, you can get a 14 day free trial of any of the Astute Graphics plugins.

...what I should have said was Tuesday November 1st.
Anyway, here is something for the occasion, I used a sugar skull from Designious [link] - I liked the hairstyle!
The font is Muertos which contains ornaments, which I used in the design.
So not much of this is my own work, but I'll take the credit for the halftones.
