Click / Pop-Up

Good morning guys!

I was wondering, if it is possible to make a pop-up event, when you click an image/button/text?

For example, when you click the red-cross..


.. to see something like this:


.. (and maybe) clicking it back to close it.

I know it might work, in case the cross opens duplicated page, that contains the pop-up bubble, but it will be nice, if it can be done without duplicating.
Anyone hints?
