Best Settings for Parallax Effect

Can one suggest the best settings for the parallax effect, I just can't seem to get it to work properly.

I have to say that parallax scrolling is not an intuitive thing at all. Take a look at the attached. Preview the page and scroll up and down and note the speed at whcih the objects move. The numbers represent the degree of speed assigned to each of the objects. The numbers go from left to right on the speed slider.
