Dear Xara...

I think of upgrading to V365 of Designer Pro, but the Update Service FAQ say: "The copy(s) that you have installed at the time of expiry will continue to run indefinitely, BUT if you re-install on a new machine after the Update Service has expired then the new installation will fall back to the version you last purchased..."

No chance to save the current state of the software, if you don't renew? Means, you paid for a newer version, and if you have to reinstall you get the last version again? Is this a joke?

I think you are mixing up things here.
You have payed for Version 12 (365) which comes with features V11 did not have.
You won't lose these and can use them forever.

During the lifetime of V12 you'll get access to fully functional additional features, which are part of future versions
of the software. While installed on a one particular machine you may use them, even without further paying.
But this form of extended Preview for later versions will not be accessible when re-installing on a new machine.

You then get back what you initally payed for.

Sorry, spoke too early.
Seems that once the new release is out you will actually lose editing access to features which were in the package at purchase time.
A sample is Web-Galleries which are set up online from within Xara and which are hosted on Xaras servers.
