    Default Publish/Not Publish pages?

In PowerPoint there is a very handy feature where you can Hide or Unhide a page so it doesn't appear in your presentation.

Can we please get a similar feature in Xara?

Sometimes, I just want to turn off a page so it isn't upload (and, indeed, removed) from my site.

This could be for all manner of reasons - seasonal (Christmas pages), occasional events etc. where I do NOT want to delete a page, just hide it.

    Pretty please?

The only way I can think of doing it would be to remove any link from the menu. The site still gets published with the 'Christmas' Page but there are no links to it.

In order to exclude individual pages from search engine indices, the noindex meta tag <meta name="robots" content="noindex"> is actually superior to robots.txt.

Yes, as Egg suggests. Double click on the nav bar, select the page and delete it. The page is still there but the button and link is gone.

The downside to this is if someone does a search for that page it will probably show up.

I guess you could save a version of your site minus the Christmas page, or any other pages you don't want and publish from that document. Then when Christmas rolls around add the Christmas page back in (copy and paste page).

Slap a big "Nothing to see here sign over the page's content.

Add the following into the page HTML code (head): <metahttp-equiv="refresh"content="0; url=http://yourSite.com/index.htm"/> to put people to your home page, just in case you've not zapped all the links to the page.
Don't forget to check the Variants are peaceable as well.

    Info Re: Publish/Not Publish pages?

Following a little play, this works very effectively:

    1. Remove the page from any Navbar and other links (
    2. Set all the objects on the MouseOff Layer to hidden, including Variants. This prevents anything actually being published.
    3. Set the MouseOff and Mouseover Layers themselves to hidden, including Variants
    4. Add the META redirection to the page head as I described
    5. Add another topmost Layer with some simple explanatory text, including Variants; these should never be seen as the page is redirected away
