Default Website comes up skinny on Explorer/Chrome ?

Using Web Designer 365 Premium I constructed a small website and it
does not fill the screen on any browser only about 1/2 the monitor screen.
Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?

    thank you

Hi Wayne and welcome to TG, your page size is 960 wide by 1000 px long and your black background does not cover it. Go to your page layers on the right of the page, unlock the page background and pasteboard background by clicking on the orange lock then click on your black page background and enlarge to the limits of the page. You might also want to consider changing your pasteboard background color to black or any other color by dragging your chosen color over the white background. Next you will need to move your items on your page to where you want them. You may also want to right click your mouse while on the page background then click web properties at the bottom, then click on the website tab at the top and then click on the clip to page edges at the bottom in the other box. This last step will permit you to push items further out but the item needs to be touching the page background box to show when you preview and publish. Let us know how you make out.

    Ciao

Thank you for your information. I am working on it. So far I have managed to screw up my test page but I was working with it
via TeamView from my office. Later this afternoon I will have some time to dig back into it. Again, thanks for your interest and
I will let you know how we do.

Update: Worked long time today and have been able to share to web blank pages full screen. Thats the good news.
Problem now is even though the new pages look good when I check to browser they are blank except for the same size
strip down the middle. Something is not allowing me to widen the area that will accept the stuff over the entire page ??
Any good ideas. You have me on the way but after a couple hours I had to give up.

Sorry to be a problem child

Hi Wayne, if you were to upload a copy of your website (either .web or .xar) it would make the job easier to find your problem(s), as well more people could offer solutions.

Problem is this is my first day with the Premium serial number and it is learning process. You sure put me on the
right track and I certainly appreciate it. After two more hours I finally got it on the way - I think . You can see it at k9slq.com
    Again thanks very much. Wayne

    Hi Wayne, here are the steps to attach a file;

    Click on reply to thread,
Click on go advanced button (right side)
Click on attachment icon (paper clip holder picture)
Click on add file (Top right)
Click on browse and find your .web or .xar file and then click on open
    Click on upload
    Click on done
    Click on submit reply.

I noticed on your website that navigation is done using the arrow at the bottom right, I do not think that it is that obvious. A navigation bar is more obvious since you have 5 pages.

Being new to Xara you might want to consider looking at the following site http://www.xhris.digitalred.net/#xl_xr_page_index particularly chapter 4, there are a bunch of videos showing all the basic steps to designing a website. It was done for an earlier version of web designer but still appropriate. It will not have all of the bells and whistles of 365, but you need to walk before you run.

    Ciao
