Default Bending the Horizon in Photo & Graphic Designer 2013

    Hi all,

I took a pic of a sunsetClick image for larger version.

ID:	111736 from an airplane. Just for fun, I'd like to bend the horizon so that it looks like the pic was taken from space. Is there any tool in Xara that can do this for me? I've tried the various mould tools and the standard live effects tools, but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    JK.

    Hello JK,

There are some bitmap filters in XDP X11 (and some earlier versions, and perhaps limited to the 32-bit version) that more or less can warp the image to force the horizon into a more circular shape. I wasn't happy with my attempts.

One of the screen shots below are using an image editor, the other can be done using any application that has mesh warping capability (I used a layout application, actually).

Glad I wasn't on that flight

You could create an art brush from it and draw an arc

Okay, that really looks bad. But you probably can do better. This is how it looks after stretching a little, create bitmap copy and cropping.

    FX>Deformation Filter>Liquid color
Stretch>only in vertical direction>zoom out to make it apply to a larger part of your picture.
Done in DesignerProX11(don't know if the liquid color filter is present in your version)
