    Thanks gwpriester. I'm an idiot. I'm doing something wrong in the design. I used your image and had the same problem. But when I made a new website just to test the transparency I found it worked as did my image. So I'm assuming it's a layering issue somewhere. Sorry for the headache, I should have tested my image this way first. Thanks everyone....
