    Perhaps the H1 tag had no effect on your SEO rating change after all.

    There seems to be a lot of people saying different things without any source or article to back it up.

    This will go through everything you need to not only make your website SEO friendly but also user friendly.

    Sure, there are a few things Xara doesn't do or could do better from that article and we're working on it, but if it isn't in that guide above then it's not worth mentioning / has no effect on SEO. End of.

    End of all the points here that have nothing to back them up. Egg is the only one who has actually posted something relating to the topic from Google.

    It took until Post #15 for the detail to appear that the site had Variants. Until then, most of the assistance was necessarily speculative.

    I mentioned:
    Most SEO is common sense: good content, alternative text for images, focused page name and a smattering of meta description.
    Register with Google Webmasters and include a sitemap.
    To my mind, this is a good précis of the Google starter document.

    We can say what we like, this is a forum not a court.
