Drag and Drop Photos

Hello all,

Just finally am able to get going again in xara after a long year of fighting!

I must've forgotten a bunch of stuff about this software.
I'm using Xara Web Designer 9 Premium.

And now, all of a sudden, I cannot drag and drop photos from my picture library file to xara.
Not sure what the problem is.
Any suggestions?

Are you dropping (attempting) them onto the page or onto other photos?

I wonder if your security software is preventing this? I use Webroot Secure Anywhere and when I install a new version of Xara I always have to go back and give permissions to copy and paste.

Both, I can't drop it anywhere...I get the circle with a line through it..

I just checked my security software, embarrasingly enough, I think it's AVG. And I didn't see any settings for which to make that change.

Try running Xara as administrator, this often cures these issues.

Hi,

First thing to try as Egg has mentioned is to close xara down and then right-click the shortcut > Run as Administrator

Second thing which can cause this is as gwpriester mentioned your anti-virus program, Try completely disabling it and see if you can drag and drop now.

Lastly, do you have any clipboard or explorer utilities installed such as powerdesk? These programs can cause these issues as well.
