    Default Firefox

I've used Firefox as my usual browser for some time, but for a while now it's developed an odd behaviour - often failing to connect to a website on first attempt, but always doing so on refresh. Extremely annoying. I haven't been able to google this kind of behaviour. Anyone else seen it?

For now, I've switched to Chrome..

It depends on what extensions you have in either. A number phone home, usually benignly just to check if an update is available. Others act as specialist firewalls blocking adware. All compete for bandwidth and can sometimes fail causing a download to hang.

I would disable all plug-ins and run like this and see which hangs or run Incognito.

Perhaps your firewall is over zealous.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" in case the current setting is causing problems.
Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
Firefox > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced: [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"

That might be my problem I use AdBlock as an extension saves a huge amount of crap.

I have the same problem with Google Chrome, and for a while I removed ALL extensions to see if that made any difference. It didn't. Chrome also has a problem with the Bookmark avatars, they switch from the original avatar for the website to some other website's avatar. It doesn't matter what you do, it keeps mucking up. There's a Chrome forum that's been recieving complaints for a couple of years now with no solutions. In fact, the Google Reps have just stopped replying to all the complaints.

I don't think Waterfox is Mozilla product. That is the intent of the company that offers it, but I think it is not Mozilla. Mozilla does have a 64-bit browser, Nightly, which I have some issues with.

I find, and maybe this is the NSA but during certain times of the day, I cannot enter text without a delay. I'll key in a sentence and then it stammers the text into the text box.

sorry, more ot...waterfox is mozilla based and the person developing it has their blessing from the looks of it. while it seems like it's still a beta (runs a little rough for me), i like/enjoy the interactive header of the website for the project
    waterfox

and yeah, lately chrome has been a little on the sucky side for me too
