Oh, Paul, if an artist doesn't connect with their audience, it's not because they're too clever.

    It's because they're a Fine Artist.

That was not a joke. :)

Some of those images you create look so real. Very impressive.
    Your poster looks very cool!

    Default Play Room

    Thank you, Mark.

I don't know why, but in addition to food items, I also gravitate toward designing rooms.

Very impressive sir. It impresses me that you can use those programs at all, I've tried them and end up befuddled. Great stuff Gary!

Love the water pistol, Gary. Looks like Buck Rogers owned it. Your work is amazing, I have no other word for it. I sincerely mean that.

And I sincerely thank you for your kind comment, Graham.

I did another water pistol as an illustration here. Both modeling and drawing are a fun "release" and I appreciate the similarities and differences in these two media.

    My Best,

    Gary

I think a while back on The Xara Xone, I explained how this effect could be done, using any type of photo of a garment or fabric below the text.

Yes, and the pitch will come later (to mix G.B./USA slang).

Odd, but intentional, Paul. I was playing with a film damage filter. I guess I was more successful desaturating the original colours, in retrospect.

Here's a very old plug-in that does a better job of distressing an image: Crio-Scitex's PowerTone, from 1994 or so. There's only a custom brown and blue channel to this duotone, although the human eye might think it sees more:
