    Default Guitars

Thanks, Mike. Pity I can't say it's actually my work!

This could be a Xara piece,if only 3D extrudes were supported as vectors. I did this entirely in Adobe Dimensions and the vectors can be rotated in 3D space. Infinite poses, infinite finishes, infinite lighting for the price of a few hours' work.

Some Xarists do planes and trains (excellently, mind you) :) I do guitars.

    Gary

Does Dimensions run on newer OS', Gary? If so I'll want to dig out my install. It's been a long time since I used it.

The only real, working 3D job I ever did was in Crystal 3D and was for the print pieces originally. Then they wanted an animated version of it as well for the investor presentation. It was a 65 or so foot long machine that automatically built walls using metal studs in office buildings. It was pretty cool.

I believe so, Mike. I just rendered out those two guitars this morning. :)

Seriously: 64×, yes. Windows 7, yes. No reason to believe it won't install or run under Win 10.

Great effect with the water colour Gary, and those guitars are just plain good.

Ah, welcome Mr. Planes and Trains, Graham! :)

Thank you for all comments; mwenz likes the watercolour filter, too, so here is one from 1994, where I used Silicon Beach Software's Gallery Effects. This was later acquired and incorporated into Photoshop, but Adobe never got around to a high-res version of the filters, so there is some aliasing when you apply them, and some filters won't work at all on layers, a relatively contemporary feature given the filters were originally 8-bit, and layers were a pipe dream in photo retouching.

So I massaged this piece this morning after applying the filter:

I like that Gary, it gives a convincing effect.

Well, once again, Graham, your complements mean a lot to me, coming from someone who can paint, to someone who doesn't know how!

This is a design within a design. First, I created a fake New Yorker cover, then I put it in a scene I rendered, and then filtered a lot:

    Default Still life

This is just a still life I'm pleased with. It took a lot of colour correction using Photoshop, and then quite some time paint-cloning over it with Painter.

Interesting results, Gary. The different textures are eye catching. Looks like traditional art.
