Fisheye Lens Effect Plugin

CValley FILTERiT plugin for Illustrator allows one to do lots of things in Illustrator that aren't possible, or at least very difficult to accomplish without this plugin.
Just one example that I've accomplished so far is the Lens Tool. A nice, effective vector result, too.
At $129.00 it's not cheap, but there are loads of effects to try out.

Xara's Dent Bump FX filter does a pretty good Fisheye and is included with the product.

And is no longer vector. Kinda important for all sorts of reasons.

This thread in the general graphics section is about an AI plug-in...does the dent/bump thing come with AI, too?

The plug-in does more than this example. The above can also be done with a mesh in AI & DP, and with an envelope (perhaps) in XDP.

Did you actually use either the fish eye or dent/bump live effect as mentioned above?

Looks like an envelope was used.

Mox nix. It either works or it doesn't. It does not matter if I let a filter do the distortion or if I have the knowledge how to create a vector fish eye lens distortion effect.

Look, Gary, first you hijaak the thread and make a silly statement about Xara products using live effects to achieve the same thing. I replied that it isn't vector.

Then, rather than admit you were incorrect, you go ahead and show a vector "fish-eye" effect using an envelope without stating you did a bait-n-switch in the topic. You implied it was done with the live effect by so doing.

To top it off, still not willing to admit you were wrong to make the original statement, you write the quited gibberish?

This thread is spent; I'm closing it. Bob has made his point about the set of plug-ins for Illustrator that extend its vector effects powers.

I'd like to see a new thread on how to achieve vector effects that look like bitmap effects using Xara, but let's not let it fall into acrimony and irrelevance as this thread has.
