Crazy brushes

Is anybody experiencing this?

After tweaking an old CorelXara drawing, I noticed that I can't obtain a simple brush in certain cases. In the example below, creating a brush from the green rounded rectangle gives me a regular brush. However, attempting the same to the second (orange) one gives a crazy result with an implicit rotation that can't be remmoved. Even more strangely, even I change the color of the second one, it still generates the same "crazy" brush!

Am I crazy or what?
