    Default Trouble Updating Designer Pro X11

    I have been able to update my home comuter without any trouble but when I try to update my work computer I run into problems. After I select the update under the help tab, the prgram opens up the Welcome to Xara Community page that has the links to the foruma and XARA Xone and support but it never goes any farther.

    I have even tried to run the program as an Adminstrator and still the same. I should mention platform is Windows 7.

    Any ideas on what to try?

    I experienced the same thing in WD11 Premium. I'll flag this post for the developers at Xara who are looking into this issue.

    I have figured it out.

    Under the ProgramData/xara/xara Designer Pro X11
    There is a text file called installation_x64. I opened this file in Notepad and there is line "IsRegisteredUser=0" changed this to "IsRegisteredUser=1".
    Restarted Designer Pro and it automatically did the update.

    Note sure why this line was set this way beacuse the computer and program are registered and I had verified it on Xara's site when I first encountered the problem.

    Hope this helps someone else.

    Brilliant! I'm going to try this with Web Designer 11.

    It worked!

    Now the big question the developers need to figure out is how this got reset.
