colour changes

Does any one have any idea or can suggest to whom I should peak about this question?

I have a basic design ( attached see link TEST ) that is used on a framing mount website to illustrate a product. I see some other framing websites like ours have choice of colours the client can select for the mount to be cut from. On these websites when a color is selected the image colour changes to match this. has any one any idea how to achieve this ?

PS I do have instantly using email activated but I do not always get notifications via emails so if I am slow to respond my apologies.

You have two ways. the first is all Xara can offer.

BEST
Create a colour swag of all your variations.
For each colour, create a Layer that is an overlay against your basic picture(s).
Then link the colour to the Layer.

HARDER
If you have any coding experience you could Name a frame and then use some JavaScript to change the colour.

Have a look at the attached two files.

Test 2 places a colored area over your matts and uses a Hue transparency to change the color. If you want deeper colors the bottom colors need to be darker.

To be more accurate, create your colored samples individually so you can control the colors.

I was in a rush yesterday and I thought I had uploaded both.

I'm really pleased with this outcome. I know nothing but very basic js scripts but doing Google searches I quickly (3 hrs) came up with this. Not 100%, but it converts the border around a photo to any colour in the swatch. The Hex value is displayed in an Alert window, I'd prefer it displayed in a text field.

I'll upload a zip file and perhaps Acorn can tidy it up (please)

Nice swatch. Egg, rem out the myColour alert and replace with a jQuery statement like:

$("#displayPickedColour").html("myColour = " + myColour);

to a Named blank DIV (Placeholder with <DIV id="displayPickedColour"></DIV>).

That's incredible Egg, except, the question, as I understand it, and that is qualified for as much as I understand anything, is how to change Alistair's matt colors on his web site to match his inventory. Such as when you visit a website, select an item such as a t-shirt, then click on color swatches to see how the t-shirt looks in the available colors. I do not think Alistair's company offers quite that many colors. I could very well be wrong, mind you.

I took this to read the border colour changes, not the photo colour (Why would you want to do that?)

On my example the border colour changes, probably far more than the OP requires, but a good example of the possibilities
