Default Unwanted White Space in graphic

    Help

When I take a png and add a picture along with some text I get a white border extending beyond the picture. It doesn't matter whether I group it individually or do a marquee group it shows up in the xar file and the exported png both.

    thanks

Looks like your using a png of the horses head over a picture of a field. I suspect that the horse png has a very large area around it, larger than the underlying field picture. Of course that's only a guess without seeing your xar file.

What do you see if you switch to Outlines View?

    Horse's head is the problem.
But what the problem is, I don't know at the moment.

If you apply clipview, then you can get the right result.

It is that the hidden clipped data is trying to export.

Make a bitmap copy of the horse head--move it away from the background image first. You may still have the unseen crop data and may need to drag the handles in around it again. Then select the whole and try the export again.

interesting that when the clipped horse and the background are grouped, the group boundaries are those of the unclipped horse.... ungrouped the boundary of the horse is as clipped..

The clipped horses head has an unlocked FX effect. If you ungroup the image, then select the horse's head with the Photo Tool > FX tool, then click the lock icon, then you will only export what you see.

You can also ungroup the image, then right click on the head and Optimize Photo. The converts the FX effect to a bitmap.

    well spotted re unlocked effect

and still interesting that the boundaries are now full size for the clipped horse when locked, but reduced on grouping as expected

guess the live effect works on the unclipped image not just the clipped bit, would make sense
