Simple page number insert?

Hi,
So very simple well i thought it would be, I'm trying to insert page numbers and I can't? (when I click on insert - pagenumber- it's not highlighted or available?)any reason why? or how to without actually having to do it manually as i can't actually see the bottom of my page to do so, without grouping whole page and trying to move because not all of it moves? Sorry if Im confusing :/

Which application are you using? You haven't posted in a Xara software forum, so I have to ask?

Oh I'm sorry I'm using Xara Designer Pro X10.

Create a small text area/column first, then Insert>>Page Number>>choice
