Xara incredibly slow on inserting links and text.

I have been following the "create your site in sections" advice above. I just cannot see how I can test it on my computer, before publishing it ....

Unzip this folder and it may give you an idea on splitting your site.

If you File / Export Website to your local hard drive, you will be able to preview the site before publishing to your server.

I had tried running Xara with no other programmes running and nothing plugged in. And, yes, I had restated etc.

I have made a discovery though. The page I was working on as my test page had a table on it that had been created after pasting it from Word. I have removed that and things are much faster. When I am typing, the cursor moves and the text appears a few second later. That is far better than what I was experiencing. Does that sound normal? Again, this is part of a 133 page website with virtually no graphics.

The "add hyperlink" window still takes 1 minute 25 seconds to appear though. Should I continue looking for reasons?

I had Photo and Graphics designer 2013 still installed. I had upgraded from that to Designer Pro X. Two days ago I wondered if having still an older version was causing the problem, so uninstalled it. It didn't seem to make an difference, but have I done the wrong thing?

I haven't tried the Task Manager yet.

I've never created a site with anywhere near you's Peter. Perhaps you could upload it to Dropbox or Google Drive and give us a link to it here so we could test your site ourselves and see if we can replicate your problems? Adding a hyperlink in my experience is instant!
