Default Free "Sharplet" Plug-in Filter from Redfield

This filter does a really excellent job of bringing out detail in a photo without the usual halo or graininess.

Install the filter in the (Xara product) > Xara Picture Editor > PSplug-ins folder.

It isn't actually necessary to install in your xara program files folder.
For example, all my plugin filters are in a common folder on another internal drive and the path to this folder is set in Utilities>>Options>>Effects & Plugins>>Setup then choose 'Add folder' and browse to the drive and folder where you store your plugin filters.

Steve - This is one way of doing it. Since I primarily use plug-ins in Designer Pro, it is easier to install filters as I noted.

    Understood, Gary.
But for the benefit of others, particularly new users to Xara it's worth noting that installing third party plugins into the Xara directory folder is not suggested by Xara plus it should be kept in mind that if you uninstall your Xara application you will also lose those third party files.. Using the method provided by Xara to grant access to installed plugins has none of these caveats. I saves pain later.

    generally this is true

but in trying out xpg11 I have been reminded that the plugins folder set in one version of xara options is picked up by the other version[s]

this is not good because some of the plugins I use in version 8 do not work in version 11 and can cause memory allocation error/crash

in this particular case I have reinstalled the required plugins gary's way for each program
