    Default 2 free fractal generators

I'm mentioning these two programs because they're free and because they can generate shapes using fractal algorithms in ways I haven't seen before:

Incendia-Incendia has its own rendering engine, although you can export your 3D objects and use your own renderer. In this program, you can define a seed shape, and then "fracture" it according to several different fractal algorithms. This guy here was a torus I split using a triangle, so the result was predictable. This render is from Incendia:

StructureSynth-Not actually a fractal generator, but many pieces you design can look like a 3D fractal. Structure Synth uses a graphics language to arrange primitives across a given space. It's fairly easy to use to get interesting results, like this geometric tumbleweed:

    Fun diversions, at very least!

Download a trial of Ultra Fractal

Thanks for sharing, kaufenpreis; I've put a link above.

But as far as I can tell, this program can't generate 3D data you can then use in a modeling program. My post was meant to be of interest to the 3D community, but Ultra Fractal looks like it produces nice 2D artwork.

    My Best,

    Gary
