I reckon we need an example here as I don't understand the question.
I am assuming you want to export a group of images and reference them by x- and/or y-position displacement?
If so, then any of the Xara programs allow you to group a number of objects and export them as jpeg or png.

    http://www.w3schools.com/css/img_navsprites_hover.gif example from w3schools.com: http://www.w3schools.com/css/tryit.a...ites_hover_nav.

I'd like to see Xara include a Sprite file to allow for this feature but it would need to be automatically generated.

I don't understand the question either.
From my understanding Paul, a Sprite file is a single bitmap file containing a montage of images. A css file dictates which parts of the montage are displayed and their location. The advantage of this is that instead of a multitude of calls to the host server for numerous image files, it only calls for a single image and reduces server requests.

So we've both answered our own questions (and got the same answer) but we still need the OP to comment: why is it needed, why is it important, where is it used?
