Default "Patchy" Loading process for web pages??

    Hey guys and girls.

I have been wondering about this for a while now. Usually when creating a website, especially if you have a bit more content than usual on the pages or if your internet connection is slightly slow, everything loads in a sort of "patchy" way; first the text, then a background picture, then a logo, then the pasteboard etc etc.

    So my question:
Is there a way to make the whole web page load in the background before it actually becomes visible to the person browsing it with perhaps an icon or animation that says "loading page" or something to that effect? My question obviously pertains to being able to do it through Xara WD.

Furthermore, do you see any merit in having an animation or icon that says "loading page", even if it only loads for like 2 seconds.

Any thoughts or alternative suggestions are welcome and very much appreciated!

    No.

Why don't you show the URL of this patchy loading site?

Better to optimise the page. The user isn't interested in messages, they want to see the content.

Detune your first page by checking all your graphics are optimised. replace images with text where possible.
Keep the first page background and pasteboard flat without too much shading.

Use Chrome's Inspect Element (right click on your web page) to check your Resources' sizes are sensible.

    Never overload your first page.
