Mehdi & other plugins installation problem

On my windows 7 desktop I have tried downloading & installing Mehdi by going to" help\download content installer" from Xara Pro X9 help menu. It seems to d/l o.k. but I get error msg: plug in could not be installed Error 1624.
It also does not show up in special effects. I cannot be sure but I think I actually used this plug in a few months ago on the same pc. I also have X9 installed on my laptop but when I went to the Xara help menu on that there was no listing of Download content Installer even though the other items were there. Also the plug in was not listed on the special effects menu either. I am using the 64 bit vers on both computers. Maybe I should try uninstalling Xara & reinstalling?

How I have always done it is download the ones you want from http://www.mehdiplugins.com/ and install to your C program files (x86)/Xara/XP9/Xara Picture editor/PS plug-ins. Most are free but not all.

Hi Phil,

The 64 bit version of Xara Designer Pro X9 does not support the 32 bit plugins; 32 bit plugins are supported by the 64 bit version of Xara Designer Pro X10.

If you use the 32 bit version of Xara Designer Pro X9, you should see the plugins available.

I had a feeling it was something to do with the 64 bit vers, but I know I had used this plug in on either my desktop or laptop a short while ago, but it sure isn't there now!

Phill are you running the 64 bit version? That would enplane it, but why they are not there now is a mystery. Have you done anything that could have removed them, such as rolling windows back to a previous configuration.
