Can someone point me to a site where I can get line drawings similar to these two drawings, both characters and objects.

Are there any tutorials on using the sketch tool, tried a little with a Wacom table, but wasn't very successful.
    Thanks

I personally use my mouse to draw lines around objects.

I'm not sure what program your using but here is a tutorial that may be helpful http://www.xaraxone.com/tutorials/dr...nts-episode-1/

that is not mouse lineart surely; if it is someone had a lot of time to spare..

if I were doing it with a wacom I would do it in a raster program such as painter or sai or manga studio and then vector it afterwards with vector magic, totalvectorize or inkscape if necessary

you can probably do the first in xara given practice using the freehand tool and the wacom, but the second one looks like a caligraphy pen and xara does not have one [although you might be able to fudge it with the shapebuilder tool - but that tool being screen pixels only does not make for a pleasant workflow in this regard]

laguna - Do you want to create these line drawings or do you want to purchase them as clip art?

Always like a challenge Handrawn. 100% Xara, 10 minutes, didn't use the trace tool, Only Shape Editor tool & a mouse.

Well, initially I was going to draw them, but my first couple of attempts were lousy. Haven't tried painter yet as mentioned above. I'm thinking might be more cost effective to buy, if price reasonable enough, looks like you can buy a subscription at some sites. In the end I need svg files, doing a whiteboard animation.

Paint seemed much easier to draw in for me. I'm just doing these basic line drawings, do SAI or Manga Studio offer anything that I might need for such basic drawings. Is there any sw out there that might have a library of figures and objects of the style I'm interested in? Any recommendations on software for creating a whiteboard animation video, want to animate the redraw of the object.

There is tons of cartoon clip art https://duckduckgo.com/?q=cartoon+clip+art I would avoid free clip art because often times the sites include unwanted software in the download some of which may install on your computer and might be very hard to get rid of.

if you only want clipart suff not worth paying a lot for a program maybe

actually inkscape has a calligraphy tool that behaves more naturally instead of wobbling like xara's freehand tool does [ok there is a reason for that, but it assumes you draw like a tortoise and not a hare]

and it will be vector, and inkscape is free - but unless you use win 8.1 [assuming you use windows at all] you may have trouble getting the touch sensitivity to work properly [due to problems between the program libraries inkscape uses and wacom drivers]

in any event it may not pick up the tablet until you set it in input devices
