i did the original fish shape in xara, then took into psp to finish it off, i filled the voids with colours then used kpt plug ins for glass effect, the lead effect was a psp bevel effect, as you can see with and without fade
i was gonna do a homer simpson one but ...er copyright and all that, hope you all like it.

cheers

Eric, nice work!

I think you'll be surprised, however, that leaded glass can be done with Xara alone. Check out Miester Preister's XaraXone tutorials.

Nice use of multiple programs Eric. The bottom image looks particularly photorealistic. Whilst the boys above are right that you could have done this with Xara alone - there's nothing saying you have to! Perhaps the biggest advantage of doing it in Xara would have been how easily you could have edited the final image. Its "named colours" are an amazing feature and well suited to the xara equivalent of your design.

To supplement Gary's stained glass tutorial in the XaraXone, I posted an all-xara stained glass mini tutorial in a thread in the main Xara forum. If you try it I think you'll see it isn't necessary to jump between programs. Xara can certainly do it all in a relatively simple manner.

As this is more art and less tutorial I'll post this here.

It was done entirely in Xara with no outside help.

Eric, When you took into PSP the colors became very dull.

Gary, that is sure a mad looking sun, didn't it have it's a.m. coffee yet?

So here is my my stained glass that I have on my web page where I am putting my new XaraX images.
Gary's is better even though it is madder at the world!
