Post links not working

I'm using an old version of web designer but I think my question would apply to any version. Does anyone know why hyperlinks to other pages in the web I'm working on do not work if they are enclosed inside a box or table cell. Thanks, Steve thesongsender@comcast.net

Steve, by a box I assume you have grouped text with a box. If so, you need to apply the hyperlink to the group.

By a table cell, is this where you are using the Xara Table widget?
If so, you need to compose the link by hand in the form of This is a Link

I had that problem recently. turns out, the box was on top of the link, so I was only clicking on the box, not on the link beneath it.

Solution was simple: Select the link and Bring to Front.

I have no idea why I can select the link in Xara, but cannot click on it on the web page.

Ed, another object's bounding area overlaps the link.
In your Xara application, it doesn't know about this HTML-imposed constraint so you can easily select it.

If I have such problems, I try to bring the link forward.
If that affects the design, I then consider slicing shapes to reduce the bounding area.
If that fails, I cheat and place a near transparent box over the link and let it act as the link.
