Home page of mobile website is not white

I am most of the way through a first attempt at publishing a first website with Xara Web. The mobile version of the site shows a gray background on the home page (and just the home page). I have asked for it to be white and it is indeed white on all interior pages, as well as all pages of the desktop version. But the mobile index page is different, making my white-background JPG image look like amateur hour. I'll recreate it as a PNG if I have to, but why should I have to? Why is this happening and is there a way for me to overcome it?

I've tried that. While working within Xara, the page appears white, just like all of the other pages. But when I publish, presto: gray.

Further to my quandry here, the PNG file that I created, with its background removed, displays on my published website with its white bounding box intact. So now I am wearing quite the straightjacket:

1. I cannot make the background white.

2. I cannot remove the background of my image to accommodate my unwanted background color.

Make sure the page background is unlocked when you change the colour.

To Christine: Thanks for the suggestion. The page background was indeed locked, which is a bit curious in that I was allowed to go through the motions and alter the background color during editing while it was locked. Alas, unlocking it did not have any affect. Still a gray background.

Hi, i've had a very quick look at this.

Notice that in the mobile variant, on the first page, you have set the mouseoff layer to be a background layer. Select the layer from the Page and layer Gallery and go to properties and ensure its not set as a background layer and this should resolve the problem.

I also see you have multiple mouseoff and mouseover layers which are probably not required so ill look at the file again shortly.
