Does anyone know if there is a way to permanently set XWD 10 NOT to share web design and content changes between variants?

I'm finding it tortuous changing the mobile site and forgetting to delink content changes with the main site, only to spend more time fixing the main site once again. I don't think the variant content sharing concept was fully thought out by Xara. I find it faster to change the main site, and then go to the mobile version because each site has a different design, and therefore, presents a different challenge to move content around.
