    Default Windowless Plane

Just in case you thought that flying wasn't hard enough, for some people!
You may be able to fly in a windowless plane in the near future.

Do you think this will ever really happen?
If it did, would you fly in a plane like this?

Here's a quote from the article, or click on the link above:
"If a window seat is enough to make you nervous on a flight, you might want to avoid a new kind of plane that could fly in as soon as a decade. UK-based tech innovation company Centre for Process Innovation (CPI) hopes to be among the first to design a windowless aircraft. Instead of windows, the plane would have high-definition, flexible screens to show what's happening outside, as it soars through the air."

Could you trust the airline to show the real thing though Rik?

I'm not sure it would make that much difference. Bit like traveling on the channel tunnel.

I for one love looking out the window. So, not for me.

By the time you miss the window, you'll be fastening your seat belt for landing!

Though I doubt I'd get the opportunity to fly to Europe and a ride on a windowless jet airline, however, as a cartographer getting a better look at the ground in a macro view from high elevation I think would be a great experience. Consider that I've been on dozens of flights across the US in my lifetime, and I've always been intrigued by looking at the ground to understand the terrain and even the manmade structures viewable from above. I noted to myself the almost child-like awe of looking at the ground from a window seat, even on my recent flight to LA from Chicago to pursue the Activision Call of Duty map commission. If I can get a more comprehensive view than from the tiny window on the airline, I'd appreciate it more. I have no fear of heights, so I'd find it fascinating for such a windowless view from above.

Flying to the states from the UK over the arctic has always fascinated me. Seeing all that ice and northern communities and knowing it's a world away from my own everyday life.
