I just installed Xara Designer Pro X10 and I am unable to see .XAR file previews in the "Open" dialog box.
Has this been removed in X10, or is there something I should do on my end?

All I can think of is that the Preview checkbox is unticked (highlighted in yellow).

On Windows 7, 8 and possibly Vista, DPX10 now uses the Windows file dialog's preview rather than implementing it's own version.
So maybe you need to open the Preview pane:
Also, make sure that you have the latest version of DPX10 (by using Check for Updates from the Help menu) because there were some problems with file previews in earlier versions.
