A lot of explanation isn’t necessary with this month’s Giveaway: it’s a typeface! Specifically:

    • It’s a headline-style typeface. If you use it at 12 point for body text, a reader will surely shorten your lifespan by no less than 10 years.

    • It’s decorative, but a little brash and definitely stylish and underused in the print world. Use it for store signs (as shown above), for menu headlines at restaurants none of us could afford, use one one character and make a logo out of it with additional shapes and creativity of your own.

    • Because Bouton was so darned thoughtful and made a TTF version in
addition to OTF (which is a much better font format), you can use this font in Xara 3D Maker and animate it like Bouton did on the front page!

Show us your Simulata Logos, Headlines and 3D work here. Download it now!

This is very nice, Thank you! Just a bit of a play with creating a pizza logo. I guess you could say this one is a little cheesy!

    It looks fantastic, stygg!

Not to say that everyone so far is putting the font to good use.

I will remark (in a courteous fashion) in a few hours once we have the other content up today!

New video, new tutorial from Rik!

Nice one Stygg especially the first that white who knows from what kind of material, it makes the viewer to consider a bit but finally really can be thought that it is something newly painted and originally existing on the photo

Csehz, in England there's a saying that goes " If you want to get noticed, go big, bold and brassy" that sums up the white sign Brassy meaning flaunt it!

I like Frances' "Pizzaria" composition, also it looks a little greasy. Don't get me wrong—the very best slice of pizza I ever had was from a 46th and Broadway snack stand in Manhattan and I needed fourteen napkins just to hold the thing!

I think you all are getting the sense of what a typeface is good for and what it is not good for. Simulata (Sinaloa) is good for very short phrases, large point size, like Stygg's side of a building, and I'd love to see how anyone can take a single character and embellish and draw around it to make it a logo.

What if Superman lived in Italy? What would his emblem look like?
