    Default Windows 10

Well, it appears that there's a preview version of Windows 10 available.

Before you decide to download and install, though.
It's vital that you read the Important section on that page, first.

    I wonder what's new?!

Click HERE to visit the Microsoft page.

If you plan to install this version, then it would be best if you signed up to Windows Insider Program.
That way you'll get the latest updates/news/releases etc...

Bear in mind that this is a preview version, and likely to be buggy and may not have all the features etc.
It's probably designed for real enthusiast, tech and developers etc...

    so I've already downloaded it

not installed it [on the second computer] yet though - not a suitable platform for a secure working environment as it says - looking forward to seeing what they do/have done already

sure the terms of use and privacy statement make that clear.. it's beta testing, what do you expect?

not going to do anything sensitive on it surely, well I'm not

This is not only unsurprising, this is the entire point of the Technical Preview. The Technical Preview exists for Microsoft to study how people use the system, gather feedback, and improve the product before it releases it to consumers. And it states this on the download page.
This is not a feature of Windows 10—this exists only for the Technical Preview and will be removed from the final version of Windows 10.
As we've already said, you should not be using the Technical Preview for anything even remotely sensitive—you should only be using it to get a peek at what's coming in Windows, and give feedback to Microsoft. Not only are they collecting diagnostics, but Windows 10 can be buggy, crash-prone, and insecure.
Some of these features, like speech-to-text, will always need to send your data back to Microsoft. OS X, iOS, and Android all include this feature, for example.

I would have a bit of a play with it, if I had a spare Laptop or PC, that I didn't mind if it got messed up.
I would try it on my PC, but the problem (from what I can see) is that you cannot revert back to your original OS.
Or, if I had a spare hard drive.

right Rik you can't - I would make an image of the existing system onto a USB hard drive if I wanted to keep it

Exactly. The thing is that not everyone realizes this. And some people would be more than happy to move on from the Win8 metro style where a single program (or "App" ) covers the entire screen. Win10 seems more like Win7 with less of 8.

Or, install it on a virtual machine using a program like VirtualBox or VMWare if you have enough system resources.

Windows 10 looks amazing far better than Windows 8 according to me.
