    Default Presentations

Is there any way to save a presentation to DVD so that it can be shown by someone without Xara? I can upload to a web site but if the location I want to present doesn't have WiFi it could not be shown.

Trying to find a simple way that can be shown anywhere by anyone. - tks - jb

jb, what's different to your previous Post: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...de-show-on-cd?

Locally Export your website/presentation to a folder, burn all the folder contents to a CD/DVD.
Connect laptop to projector, open CD/DVD index.htm file in a browser - project.

OK - if I am going to hook my laptop to a projector, why would I want to burn the presentation to a CD? I can just run it from Xara. What I need to be done is run it on a computer - or projector - that does not have Xara. I put it on a CD, closed Xara and clicked on the CD - it opens Xara. - jb

What Acorn was suggesting you do was *export* the presentation, which produces an HTML version of the presentation (see attached image of location of export button, alternatively you can use 'Export presentation' from File menu). This can be displayed by any computer which has a modernish web-browser (even if it doesn't have any Xara software installed).

You don't have to burn it to a CD\DVD, you could put it on a flash drive.

...and I did say Export. You don't need to copy over your Design file (.xar / .web).

Luke, this is just what I want but when I save as you directed what I have is a folder with all the pics in it - I find no way to run this as a presentation. - jb

You just need to double-click on the index.htm file as Acorn originally stated.

OK - had the presentation today - without what I had done in Xara. Was told they had the cables to connect my laptop to their projector - do it all the time.

So I get there and what they have is a VGA cable. Problem is, my new laptop does not have a VGA port - I have been told than none of the new laptops have one.

So no way to run my wonderful Xara presentation.

As directed above to save as an html but I don't want to run it on a modern browser - I want to run it on a projector. Just as has been done for years.

So I assume Xara has done it again - bring out something new and only go half way with it. Why a presentation program that can't be run by anyone, anywhere?

Should have done it in powerpoint - everyone can run that. - jb
