    Default Templates in Pro10

I closed down all tabs and the program and started again fresh created a new template and clicked on save template from the file menu and it displayed the folder I was using before closing the program down.

Now New only shows what is in that folder - that is no templates other than the new one.

How do I get back the templates to show correctly?

    Pro10 64bit and W7 64bit.

    Hi Peter,

I found the same thing re the last used folder.

The path name should be something similar to:

    C: Program Files / Xara / Xara Designer Pro X10 / Templates / ENG

you'll need to resave in the correct template folder I think..

C:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Designer Pro X10\Templates\ENG - is the path on my windows 8.1

open save template dialog from within Xara navigating to that folder, and check the other templates are there before you actually save

    e - Egg beat me

Yes HD but normally when I "Save As Template" it selects that path, Peters point is it's no longer doing that but saving to the last saved folder?

which is why I think need to reopen the save as template dialog and manually navigate and save again so as to reset where the program thinks the templates are - I presume it remembers last used location as other dialogs do

I should not have to do that, trying to find where templates are stored, I at present have no idea, not exactly user friendly is it.
Templates should all by default be saved in one place not in my photo folder.
Now when I open up new I see a list of photos and one template.
    It worked why change?
Put it back and then let user decide if he wants it elsewhere.

no you should not - if you chose save template from the file menu it should go to the template folder, unless you have told it to use another folder which I thought you had.. if you did not then that is wrong.. it appears to work ok for me...

cancel that - I see the problem too now, maybe I did not close all the tabs last time...

I have been saving my custom templates and they go where they should. I am using P&GD10 on a 64 bit windows 7 machine. I have noticed that not all my settings hold though. For instance, I changed the line color but when I open P&GD10 again it has defaulted back to black.

EDIT: never mind, now it is working as it should.

OK I have found where templates are stored and moved my new one into it now how do I get Xara Pro 10 when clicking on new to find that folder?

Why make it difficult when it worked before, not user friendly.

I also thought I had set up Xara to how I want and it keeps reverting to defaults.
