    Default export PDF

    Hi

I have a problem with the export of a PDF file. It does not show the same outlook as I have on my screen when exporting it. This does not happen when I export the file as a JPG-file. I made the poster in DPX10 and it is my first real attempt on making a poster, so be gentle. To create the outline I drew a rectangle from the quick shapes over the text and then I removed the fill. The line was made a bit thicker and done in my sponsors blue.

I enclose files of both exports

I hope you can help me again.

    Thank you.

I don't normally work with pdf's but I gave this a try and it was the weirdest thing your screen grab came out great, so I reproduced a small portion of it and made the line and text colors and the line came out black and the text disappeared. So I made a bitmap copy of my work and then everything looked like it should. What does that tell me?, I don't know. I couldn't find any settings to change from bw to color but thin I didn't know what I was doing anyway. So here we are, no help at all from me.

    That should not happen.

Is there any chance you can attach your .XAR file for us to look at?

Delete the rectangle and make another one.

Actually, just select the rectangle and click again on the no-fill icon in the Color Line. That fixes it.

    Edit to add...

The rectangle has a linear fill from no color to no color. Which is why clicking on the no-fill icon fixes it. I think this is an error in the program but don't know for certain...but I think the net effect (linear no-fill to no-fill and simply no-fill) should result in the same outcome.

Second edit...the fill is an elliptical fill...

Not speaking to anyone in particular, except perhaps one of the Xara folks...

If either end of a gradient fill is set to no-fill, that location will be black. If one can manage to get both ends of a gradient to be no-fill, the result is the same as Hajeem's issue, a solid black fill. One should be able to have a solid to transparent gradient by using the fill tool.
