Yea, it would of moaned straight away if it was the processor. Error code 46 is a uncommon one. I forgot MS stopped supporting XP, such good memories of that OS.
Have you got any anti-virus suites or security programs installed? Can you uninstall V10, disable them, re-install and then re-enable?

Xara support have replied to my ticket now and asked to see a copy of the install log files. Have sent that a few hours ago but no joy yet. Really wish they still did telephone support!
X9 is still running perfectly happily on the same machine. Guess in my enthusiasm to get the new upgrade I should have downloaded and trialled before ponying up the cash first. After all these years didn't expect this kind of problem though .
