    You can open a jpg or import it - is that any difference between the two? - jb

    as a general rule:

    if you open it you are changing the original when you save - if import it you are adding it to whatever kind of document you have open

    not as far as I am aware - but I can only speak specifically for designer pro [up to version 8] in a drawing/animation mode [rather than a webpage which I never use], when it comes to quality

    If you open a JPEG image, it opens in a Photo Edit window.

    If you Import the JPEG it comes into the current page.

    The quality is the same.

    You can also drag and drop the image onto the page.
