Default Responsive Template Website Not Mobile Version on Smartphone

    Running pre-purchase tests of XWD10...

While the Xara webpage on "Responsive Websites" ( http://xaraxone.magix.net/xwd10/ ) loads the mobile variant on my smartphone just fine, the XWD10 Free sample (R) template does not. I published it "as-is" as a test, but it loads the full browser variant on my smartphone.

What am I missing? Is there a special setting or another step I am missing before publishing?
(How do I ensure it loads the mobile variant on smaller screens as the Xara website listed above does?)

    Please advise,
    Thanks!
    -Tom

It may not be Xara but your iPhone. I have a site that has 2 sites, one for mobiles and one for desktops. There is code in the .htaccess file to serve up the correct variant. It works well on all the Android phones I've tested it on and in 6 of the 7 iPhones I've tried. The 7th one however serves up the Desktop pages. I can only summise tat their may be an option on this phone to bring up the full scale site.

Try it on friends mobiles and see what you get.

I tried same sites on friend's android phone. It loaded both fine.

Also, tried it on a Window's phone. Loaded the Xara page fine, but not the "as-is" XWD10 (R) template site.

Question: Is there a known way to edit .htaccess file (or other way) to force recalcitrant phones to load mobile variant?

Not as far as I'm aware Tom, I think the mobile can always be made to overight this. No proof, just my experience of what happens.
