I didn't do anything special.
Just followed the tutorial to get the effect.

Thanks Bob for the tutorial it is very good, at my first try did not convert the blend to editable shapes, well that made the computer quite much slower

All I see , and that includes looking on the forum, the galleries and in my own bathroom mirror, and all I see are ambitious people with a thirst to learn.

Bob's 'blend' method got me thinking.

Just draw 4 lines of appropriate colours, blend them together, and a bit of feathering.
You can get a pretty good looking flame.

Then you could always put that on top of a candle!

Terriific, better be careful putting the flame image below the image of the candle though cause the way it is now you might just catch the candle image on fire.
